ole is the world’s fastest growing rights management company. Founded in 2004, the company has operations in Toronto, Nashville, New York, London and Los Angeles, with a team of over 100 experienced industry professionals focused on creative development, acquisitions and worldwide rights management.
Growing immensely over the past decade, ole needed a brand new headquarters capable of accommodating all of its employees and linking together its other offices. The firm chose the 121 Bremner Tower in downtown Toronto’s Southcore district, the same building where Cisco and Amazon are headquartered.
The ole Majorly Indie project had an aggressive time frame for completion, made more challenging by tight construction conditions, longer lead times for specialized equipment, and high solution sophistication. As a music rights management company, ole considered audio quality imperative — not only to hear the assets it composes and owns, but to conduct business through audio and video conferencing. Because ole’s meeting rooms are composed of hard surfaces such as glass and floor tiles, they were acoustically difficult to work with, and could not accommodate in-table boundary microphones.
sparkAV, acting as both AV consultant and AV supplier/implementer, identified Clockaudio C303 ceiling microphones as the ideal choice, having had great success with the product on many other projects. Because ole’s meeting rooms have hard surfaces and furniture that could not accommodate in-table boundary microphones, sparkAV determined that ceiling microphones were necessary and the best option for the build-out.
With drywall ceilings and access hatches far from the plenum box location in each room, sparkAV technicians wired the microphone cables to the terminal block while working in an extremely confined space. The extra cable lead supplied by Clockaudio allowed the team to lower the microphones to the ideal level in each room as needed. Audio specialists were then given time and access to tune and EQ each room, allowing the client to leverage its VoIP and bridging platforms for calls that sound crystal clear on both ends.
The success of this project was the result of seamless collaboration between specialized partners, each contributing unique expertise to deliver an exceptional outcome.
sparkAV, founded in 2005, acted as both AV consultant and AV supplier/implementer. The project team included Derek Shama (President – Sales & Designer), Brian Cherny (VP – Projects and Services), Dave Trimble (Team Lead, Systems Integrator), Riaan Van Rooyen (Account Executive), Andrew Wilder (Sr. Systems Integrator & Audio Specialist), Frank Rubino (Sr. Systems Integrator & Video Specialist), Bryan Mitchell (Director – Programming and UC), Terry Law (CAD Lead & Inside Project Manager) and Brent Lever (Logistics Coordinator).
Andrew Wilder led the audio specification on site, recommending the Clockaudio C303 microphones to the sales team.
WilliamsCraig, ole’s design firm and a long-time partner of sparkAV, recommended sparkAV to ole when the client sought a ProAV integration company, resulting in sparkAV coming on board as both AV consultant and AV supplier/implementer.
