THE CHALLENGE

Design a Complete Audio Video Boardroom Communication Upgrade

Garland ISD’s boardroom faced several key challenges. The space, measuring 38 feet by 18 feet with a 10-foot ceiling, required an AV upgrade that would enhance audio and video capabilities for meetings broadcast via Zoom and Teams while keeping the solution low profile and the boardroom table surface clutter-free.

The goal was to ensure crystal-clear communication for board meetings, capturing the meeting content and distributing the audio to a wide range of remote participants including educators, parents, and students.

  • High-quality audio capture from a large conference table capable of streaming to remote audiences
  • Integration with existing video conferencing platforms
  • A complete overhaul and upgrade to the room’s audio and video systems
  • Keep the boardroom table surface clutter-free with a low-profile installation
THE SOLUTION

A Coordinated Ceiling-Mounted Microphone Solution

Working together, Mizzen Marketing and Piraino Consulting compiled the client’s requirements to design and build a comprehensive AV solution. A Clockaudio C303W-RF tri-element array microphone was suspended from the ceiling, chosen for its ability to capture clear audio across the entire table while maintaining a low profile and keeping the table surface clutter-free.

The tri-element design’s 360-degree pickup meant no table-mounted microphones were needed, and the suspended installation reduced pickup of table noise such as shuffling papers and pen clicks compared to table-mounted alternatives.

  • Clockaudio C303W-RF tri-element array ceiling-mounted microphone
  • New AtlasIED AZM4 4-zone audio processor (DSP) for Zoom/Teams integration
  • Six AtlasIED DT22 2×2 drop-tile speakers for even sound distribution
  • AtlasIED PA40G single-channel 40W power amplifier
  • Hall Technologies HT-CAM-1080PTZ video conference camera
  • New video displays and complete AV systems overhaul
