Reliable Communication at the Heart of Saving Lives: Nuremberg Fire Station 4

The administrative staff at Fire Station 4 in Nuremberg needed to be linked to the operational staff at Fire Station 5 via audio and video conferencing technology, without dependence on an intermediary, so that information could be exchanged reliably and at all times.

Franken Lehrmittel Medientechnik, together with local distributor prodyTel, came up with an integrative approach to the technology needs of Nuremberg’s Fire Station 4, choosing conferencing hardware from Biamp, Clockaudio and Vaddio for the installation.

THE CHALLENGE

Reliable, Tap-Proof Conferencing Between Fire Stations

The administrative staff at Fire Station 4 in Nuremberg needed to be linked to the operational staff at Fire Station 5 via audio and video conferencing technology. The goal was to not be dependent on an intermediary, and to be able to exchange information reliably and at all times. In addition to being easy to operate, it was particularly important that the system be reliable, tap-proof, and transmit high quality speech and video, while also being affordable and easily expandable.

  • Link administrative staff at Fire Station 4 directly to operational staff at Fire Station 5
  • Eliminate dependence on an intermediary for information exchange
  • Deliver a reliable, tap-proof system with high quality speech and video
  • Keep the solution affordable and easily expandable
THE SOLUTION

Ceiling Gooseneck Microphones with Biamp and Vaddio Integration

Franken Lehrmittel Medientechnik, the integration and architectural design firm responsible for the technical implementation, worked with local distributor prodyTel to specify hardware from Biamp, Clockaudio and Vaddio. Ten Clockaudio CS3W-RF suspended gooseneck microphones with a short, flexible shaft and knuckle joint were installed above the ceiling, each paired with a CPPW01-RF phantom power adapter housed discretely in the plenum space.

The CS3W-RF is designed for ceiling mounting with an unobtrusive, slim line design that is response optimized for consistent sound quality, and its gooseneck design lets installers position the microphone exactly where needed. Two digital Biamp Tesira Forté CI audio servers and two Vaddio PTZ RoboSHOT 12 QMini cameras completed the conferencing system.

  • 10 Clockaudio CS3W-RF suspended gooseneck microphones, ceiling-mounted with CPPW01-RF phantom power adapters in the plenum space
  • 2 digital Biamp Tesira Forte CI audio servers
  • 2 Vaddio PTZ RoboSHOT 12 QMini cameras
  • System specified and installed by Franken Lehrmittel Medientechnik with distributor prodyTel
